Our Beginnings
In the heart of the Sonoran Desert, Los Horcones was founded in 1973 as a community-based way of life, inspired by cooperation, self-sufficiency, rural living, and personal growth. From those roots emerged Horcones Palo Blanco Distillery, creator of spirits that reflect the quality, character, and spirit of our land.
At Palo Blanco, we craft spirits that honor the golden age of Bacanora, from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century. In those years, Bacanora was a Sonoran treasure: every sip carried the mark of craftsmanship, patience, and delicate nuance.
During prohibition, making Bacanora became an act of risk. Vinatas had to be hidden, and in that climate of persecution and fear, many processes were carried out in haste, far from the calm and care with which Bacanora was originally born.
Today, at Palo Blanco, we seek to recover that lost heritage, bringing back the flavor, nobility, and spirit with which Bacanora first came to life. Our spirits are meant to be savored, not rushed; an experience where intoxication is not the purpose, but rather the conscious enjoyment of every moment.
